Following his service in the Navy, Jerry attended San Diego State University, majoring in business with a minor in insurance. He has over 30 years of experience in the insurance profession, first as the owner of McDonald Insurance for ten years, then starting PRO Insurance Services of San Diego in the late 70’s. He remained president and CEO of PRO Insurance until merging that company with the Lawrence United Corporation in 1990. As a vice president of Lawrence United he was responsible for account management and production. Jerry joined the Ehrenfeld Company in 1996.

Jerry received his Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter designation in 1976, the Chartered Life Underwriter designation in 1978 and the Associated Risk Management designation in 2000.

Jerry is an active 15-year member of the Rancho Bernardo Rotary Club and a 10-year member of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers Association.
